A few months into the production of Big Surf, Prince passed away. To mark the one year anniversary of his passing, I made a comic tribute to him inspired by the music video for Mountains as featured in Under the Cherry Moon. Throughout production, his music was always on and kept the film's motor running as the story and animation evolved and developed. P.R.N. was and is the ultimate.
The comic was made utilizing the same printer color separation technique I used on Pet Body. Each issue had its own decorated cover, either a drawing or a painting. A selection of some of the covers are attached below.
